This Weekend: Spring Open Studios at Hunters Point

This weekend, the Artist Rising team will be enjoying the scene at the Spring Open Studios & Sales at Hunters Point Shipyard  in San Francisco. Over 160 Bay Area artists will be on hand to show off their latest creations to art lovers on Saturday and Sunday, April 28 – 29, from 11 am – 6 pm.

A former U.S. Navy base, Hunters Point is one of the largest urban art colonies in the U.S. and it includes over 15 acres of art studios in seven buildings. If you’re in the Bay Area, be sure to drop by and pick up some great art straight from the source.

What if M.C. Escher had a Wacom Tablet?

Found this amazing YouTube video from Origiful.com via Bazipedia’s blog on WordPress.

I have a Wacom tablet at home, but somehow haven’t gotten past the awkward stage with it. Watching this video is inspiring me to blow off the dust and try again.

It also reminded me that I still have a few days left to check out the M.C. Escher Exhibit at the San Jose Museum of Art. It’s up until April 22 so I’ve got two weekends left to see this art show.
